Just a Dad with COVID

So, 12 days ago I tested positive for COVID.

not a big deal, right? That’s what I thought. Boy was I wrong.

This is, in fact, my second time round with the old dreaded Coronavirus (or ‘medium C,’ as we lovingly refer to it in our household) and the first time was pretty much a breeze. Minimal symptoms, was able to go for walks and get out, it was a pretty easy ride.

This second time, though, was entirely different. Over the past 11 days I’ve had every single one of the symptoms which I’ve read about, and a couple I didn’t even know were symptoms. I’ve coughed, sneezed, been bed-ridden and at one point, I had even self-diagnosed a heart attack (I’m still here so I now assume it wasn’t – are heart attacks something you can just walk off?)

but time alone, in the house, whilst my wife and four daughters have been out, does have its advantages – the bed linen was changed on time for once, we actually spent at least two days where all the washing was done AND I final got around to actually clearing the bathroom that took nearly six months for me to fit.

So there are definite upsides to living in the post-pandemic era.
